I’m a big believer in putting yourself first, in almost every situation. After all, in the words of Ru Paul ‘If you can’t love yourself, how in the hell are you gonna love someone else?’
I think it’s especially important during these lock down times to make sure you’re giving yourself a lot of love and self care. There’s so many different ways that you can do this and it’s completely down to what makes you feel most ‘self-loved’.
For me, I always feel like I’ve taken good care of myself after a good workout and also when I’ve washed my hair. I don’t wash my hair very often (maybe 2 times a week) so when I have, man I feel good.
It’s important to take time of our day to make sure you’re making yourself happy. So whether it’s reading a book for half an hour, popping on a facemask, painting your nails or maybe just going for a walk – make sure to do it!
It’s hard (well for me anyway) to dedicate a whole day to self care but even if you dedicated half an hour of everyday to yourself, that’s amazing to do. It’s something I’d highly recommend and I’d love to know what you like to do for self love, so let me know in the comments below!
